The animated film 'Minions & Monsters' tops the cinema releases this Wednesday, July 1st, joined by other titles like 'Hunting Season', 'Magallanes', and '9 Moons' arriving on Friday.

The beloved 'Minions' return to the big screen with 'Minions & Monsters', an adventure where they aim to become movie stars. However, their success will unexpectedly awaken evil monsters, forcing them to unite and save the planet from the chaos they've created. The children's animated film features voice work from Jesse Eisenberg, Christoph Waltz, Jeff Bridges, and Zoey Deutch, and is directed by Frenchman Pierre Coffin. In the Spanish version, Álex de la Iglesia is noted as a film director.
On Friday, 'Hunting Season' will be released, a modern take on Carlos Saura's 1966 film, directed by Pedro Aguilera. The plot centers on four women, played by Blanca Portillo, Carmen Machi, Rossy de Palma, and Zoe Arnao, who gather at a hunting lodge to share difficult life moments. The heat and conversations gradually create an increasingly unbearable atmosphere.
Also premiering is '9 Moons', directed by Venezuelan Patricia Ortega. The film tells the story of Ángel, a young trans man who receives the news of an unexpected pregnancy. He must face the months of gestation and a new experience that will test his identity, his dreams, and his understanding of masculinity. Zack Gómez-Rolls, Jorge Sanz, María León, Sara Sálamo, and Fernando Guallar are part of the cast.
Lav Diaz, produced by Albert Serra, presents 'Magallanes', a journey about the life of Portuguese navigator Magellan, portrayed by Gael García Bernal. The expedition, which set off with the support of the Spanish Crown in the early 16th century towards the East, changes course upon reaching the islands of the Malay Archipelago, where Magellan becomes obsessed with conquest and Catholic conversion. Darío Yazbek Bernal, Ángela Ramos, Rafael Morais, and Tomás Alves complete the cast.
Other releases include 'Normal', directed by Ben Wheatley, about a small town with an explosive mystery; 'The Death of Robin Hood', starring Hugh Jackman, which narrates Robin Hood's quest for redemption; 'Brothers', exploring the friendship between teenagers from diverse backgrounds; 'Apocalypse Love', a romantic comedy about ecological anxiety; 'The Musicians', about the reunion of four Stradivarius instruments for a concert; 'Things I Won't Forget', which addresses memory loss due to Alzheimer's; 'Lady Nazca', based on a true story about a young German woman in the Peruvian desert; and 'Ancestral', a thriller about a curse in a village of women.
