Six locations in the Valencian Community, including Valencia, Paterna, Alzira, Gandia, and Alicante, will broadcast the opera 'La Bohème' on Thursday, May 21st.

The opera 'La Bohème' arrives on the big screen in six cinemas across the Valencian Community next Thursday, May 21st. This piece, which has returned to the Arena di Verona's Roman amphitheater with a new staging directed by Alfonso Signorini, reaches Valencian municipalities after a thirteen-year absence.
The cinemas broadcasting this work include Cines Lys and ABC El Saler in the city of València; in Paterna, Kinepolis Valencia; in Alzira, Kinepolis Alzira; in Gandia, ABC Gandía; and in Alicante, Kinepolis Plaza Mar. It will also be shown in Elche, at ABC Elx, and in a selection of 53 other screens in 50 locations across Spain.
Signorini's production transports the bohemian universe of 19th-century Paris to a large-format dimension, combining an "aesthetic faithful to tradition with a dynamic and contemporary treatment of the characters." The multicamera filming of Giacomo Puccini's work promises to offer viewers a multitude of details.
The scenography, designed by Guillermo Nova, uses transparent materials that allow for the simultaneous observation of various scenes, "enriching the narrative and adding an additional dimension to the drama." The love story between Mimì and Rodolfo unfolds with an "intimate intensity" that contrasts with the overall spectacle.
The production, designed for big-screen exhibition, offers "an emotional and visually immersive interpretation of Giacomo Puccini's work, conceived to impact both regular audiences and new viewers." It highlights its "visual richness, with detailed sets, careful costumes, and a staging that enhances choral movement and large collective scenes, especially in the second act."
Critics have praised the combination of "innovative stage direction with high-level vocal performances." The production features the "stellar participation" of figures such as Juliana Grigoryan (Mimì), Vittorio Grigòlo (Rodolfo), Luca Micheletti (Marcello), and Eleonora Bellocci (Musetta). Oren's musical direction has been lauded for "enhancing the narrative and the inherent emotion of the work."
This version of 'La Bohème' offers "123 accessible, emotional, and high-sensory impact minutes, ideal for enjoyment in cinemas." Sung in Italian with Spanish subtitles, in Event Cinema format, it brings the staging details to the viewers. It is part of a series of opera titles recorded in prestigious European theaters, selected by distributor Versión Digital.
The next titles in the season include 'Madama Butterfly' on June 4th from the Macerata Opera Festival, and 'Rigoletto' on June 18th at St. Margarethen Open Air.
