The Fallas and Hogueras festivals present notable calendar differences, impacting the reign of their main representatives.

Carmen Prades and Marta Mercader recently visited the new Bellezas del Foc of Alicante, María Pastor and Leire Arellano. In Alicante, the time between the election of the Bellezas and the imposition of their sashes is approximately fifteen days, with just over a month for preparation before the main festival. In contrast, Valencia's process takes three months for the sash ceremony and five months until the primary celebration. This temporal difference means each Fallera Mayor experiences two Bellezas del Foc during her reign, and vice versa.
The agenda for May 17th includes several events. At 6:30 PM, in the Jardins del Palau, the Regina de Maig of the Císcar-Burriana falla will be presented. Additionally, the Gremio de Sastres y Modistas CV is holding a Showroom at the old Mercado de Torrent, open from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. At 7:00 PM, a raffle for 23 traditional costume items will take place, with winners announced on the guild's social media.
The Fallas Theater competition is already being planned months in advance. The Fray J. Rodríguez-Pintor Cortina commission has organized its first meeting for the contest, where stages are crucial. Their children's commission won third prize last year, and they are now beginning preparations for a performance scheduled in approximately six months.
The Monteolivete falla had to seek a new artist as Ximo Esteve has retired. The chosen artist is José Francisco Espinosa, who is experiencing a high volume of commissions this year. For the children's falla, they are working with Andreu Sánchez for the third consecutive year.
This year, Turianova celebrates its third year. In the neighborhood, earthmoving has begun for the construction of the Shopping Center, a key project for the new residential complex. For this third edition, they are introducing a new artist: Carlos Sevilla will be responsible for the project.
A week ago, festivities honoring the Virgen de los Desamparados took place. As is customary, some falla commissions organized nighttime walks from distant towns to reach the main square. An example is the commission of Vicente Castell Maiques, which journeyed from Avenida del Cid to the Plaza de la Virgen.
The Processional Cross led the procession, marking the full integration of the falla commissions into the celebration. From a balcony, the 'mascletà' of the court of honor for Carmen Prades was witnessed, with Anabel Calero and Ani Torregrosa enjoying their exclusive vantage point.
