The prestigious Copa Faulconbridge tennis tournament in Valencia is celebrating its most significant edition this year at CT Valencia, ascending to the Challenge 175 category and attracting prominent international players from May 11 to 17.

This legendary tournament, revived a few years ago by CT Valencia, is making a significant leap in quality and is now on the verge of the ATP circuit. The competition, which will take place from May 11 to 17 at the club's facilities, has reached the highest category of the Challenge circuit, the 175.
The official presentation of the event was held on Tuesday, May 5, at the Palau de Scala, headquarters of the Diputación de Valencia. Various personalities attended the event, including the president of the Diputación, the General Director of Sports, the Sports Councilor, the tournament director, and the president of CT Valencia. Former Valencian tennis players were also present.

"This tournament is very well done; it started slowly, calmly, without making too much noise but with firm steps and a clear objective. Behind the tournament, there are many other aspects that add value, such as the commitment to having a wheelchair tournament. It is also a tournament that thinks about families, with activities for children, and that fosters social life at a tennis club."

the Sports Councilor of Valencia
The tournament will feature a high-level draw, with the presence of figures such as Roberto Bautista from Castellón, who will play one of his last matches in Valencia before his retirement. It will also be very special for Valencian Bernabé Zapata, who is bidding farewell to tennis at the Copa Faulconbridge. Other illustrious players like Pablo Carreño, Pedro Martínez, and Roberto Carballés will also participate in the competition, which will kick off this weekend with the qualifying phase. Additionally, the Copa Faulconbridge is debuting a new calendar slot, taking place in May instead of autumn, as in previous editions.

"It is one of the best sports projects in the Valencian Community due to its growth, standing out for its organizational excellence. It is the flagship of all tournaments held in our Community, thanks also to the good work being done by the Federation. We are one of the Communities that contribute the most to national tennis."

the General Director of Sports

"Congratulations, you have managed to create a high-level tournament, accessible to all. This tournament is a demonstration of what we can achieve when we all work together. A modest and brave commitment to tennis has been made, with a vision of what this tournament could become. We believe in sport as a driver of opportunities and a tool for cohesion and pride; sport inspires, we are motivating young people. Furthermore, it projects the province beyond our borders, it is promotion, tourism, and economy."
