The first of the commemorative events will take place on May 28 in the church of the monastery of Sant Miquel dels Reis. The event, open to the public until full capacity is reached, will be hosted by communicator Maria Juan and will include a round table.
The round table will feature former academics such as Ascensió Figueres, Marisol González Felip, Manuel Pérez Saldanya, and Rafael Alemany, along with former secretary-general Agustí Colomer. Journalists Ferran Bono and Violeta Tena, the latter as moderator, will also participate in the discussion.
Following the round table, singer La Maria will offer a performance featuring songs from her musical career. Attendees will have the opportunity to take photos at a photo booth with the logo designed by Pascual Lucas for the anniversary, which maintains the institutional elegance of the AVL and highlights the milestone with a design representing the institution's past and future.
Additionally, a documentary, produced by Info Televisió, is currently being filmed and will premiere in the autumn. This audiovisual will feature academics, former academics, politicians, and journalists who will recount firsthand the process of the AVL's creation and consolidation.
The celebration of the AVL's 25th anniversary represents much more than a symbolic milestone; it is a moment for reflection, projection, and institutional reaffirmation.
Since its creation in 2001, the AVL has consolidated its role as the normative authority for Valencian, establishing linguistic and onomastic criteria, developing dictionaries and grammars, and contributing to the normalization of Valencian in official, educational, and social spheres.
This anniversary reinforces the AVL's legitimacy and public visibility, while also strengthening collective awareness of the language's importance. The objectives of the celebration include reminding society that Valencian is a living element that requires support, use, and prestige to continue projecting itself into the future.
