The IES Sant Vicent Ferrer of Algemesí has carried out a dual Erasmus+ mobility in Germany, with students in Hamburg and teachers in Grevenbroich, to promote digital detox and educational inclusion.

This project, framed within the Erasmus+ program, underscores the center's commitment to internationalization, educational innovation, and the comprehensive training of both students and teachers, according to institute sources.
A group of students from fourth year ESO and first year Bachillerato traveled to Hamburg to participate in a project focused on digital detox and healthy management of technological devices. During the week, the young people worked alongside students from the Otto Hahn Schule and the Liceo Scientifico e Linguistico Statale de Ceccano (Italy), under the motto “Digital Detox”.
Activities included dynamic tasks created by the German students, a reception, and a self-assessment of digital habits. They also combined meditation, work on digital detox objectives, and a sensory awareness activity at Dialoghaus Hamburg, where they experienced the daily life of a visually impaired person. On the third day, they put their learning into practice by shopping and cooking recipes without using new technologies.
One of the most notable experiences was the collaboration with students from Hamburg and Ceccano, which culminated in a performance at a concert for the entire host institute, clearly demonstrating the added value of European projects.
In parallel, teachers Eva Márquez and Eva Wiltshire undertook a “job shadowing” stay in Grevenbroich. There, they observed methodologies and strategies related to educational inclusion, the digitalization of schools, and the prevention of school absenteeism. They were received by the director of the host center and attended various classes to understand the classroom environment, also participating in practical activities with scientific models and observing classes taught in English, such as political studies.
The teachers return with new ideas and perspectives to enrich their professional practice and transfer the learned best practices to their institute. Sources from IES Sant Vicent Ferrer emphasize that these simultaneous actions demonstrate the “firm commitment to openness to Europe and to quality education that prepares young people for the challenges of current society, while also committing to the continuous training of its teaching staff as a driver of educational improvement.”
