The Civil Guard launched an investigation this Wednesday after finding the lower half of a human body on El Saler beach, located south of the city of Valencia. The body is in an advanced state of decomposition, making it difficult to determine the person's identity.
Officers are trying to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the death and whether the body could belong to a migrant who was traveling in a makeshift boat. This hypothesis is part of the search for potential victims of human trafficking or maritime accidents.
The discovery comes the day after another body was found at sea on Tuesday, in waters near Torrevieja and Guardamar del Segura. Authorities are also trying to clarify if this second body belongs to a migrant.
