The XXIX Costa Azahar Regatta and the V Puerto Azahar Regatta have concluded with the victory of Grupo Euroatomizado in the ORC category, following a final day marked by heat and variable winds.

The XXIX Costa Azahar Regatta and the V Puerto Azahar Regatta have come to an end, with a spectacular final day marked by favorable weather conditions, including sunshine and suffocating heat. Grupo Euroatomizado, from the Real Club Náutico de Castellón, asserted its dominance to secure the title in the premier category, the 29th edition of the ORC class. Meanwhile, in the 5th edition of the Puerto Azahar, the victory in the ORC 2 class went to Tuvvik, also from RCN Castellón, while in the ORC 3-4 class, the final triumph was for Maremoto, also from RCNCS.
Sunday's race day began with seemingly favorable forecasts and a wind that invited optimism. However, once the vessels reached the race course, the wind intensity began to decrease progressively, complicating the planned development of the races.
After a waiting period at sea, the committee finally managed to establish adequate wind direction and intensity to commence the competitions. Around 12:30 PM, the vessels of the V Puerto Azahar Regatta started a coastal race of approximately 10 miles heading towards Benicàssim. Fifteen minutes later, around 12:45 PM, the participants of the XXIX Costa Azahar Regatta began their windward-leeward technical course.
Wind conditions continued to be highly variable and of low intensity, which particularly hindered the progress of the races. In the case of the Costa Azahar, the technical course could not be completed 100%, leading the committee to opt for an arrival at the windward mark to validate the race. Ultimately, Race 3, held this Sunday, was won by Grupo Euroatomizado, followed in the regatta by Manguicu Segundo (2nd), Guaira (3rd), and Azul III (4th).
In the overall standings, Grupo Euroatomizado claimed the final title, with Azul III as the runner-up, and Guaira completing the podium.
For its part, the Puerto Azahar race proved particularly demanding due to the lack of wind, turning into a true test of endurance and patience for the crews. Tuvvik (RCN Castellón) took the title in the ORC 2 class, and Maremoto (RCN Castellón) overtook Bolero (CN Burriana) to win the overall for the ORC 3-4 class.
To conclude an intense weekend of competition, the sailors shared a meal in the main hall of the Real Club Náutico de Castellón, marking the end of days characterized by effort, sportsmanship, and camaraderie. Subsequently, the anticipated awards ceremony was held, recognizing the work and performance of the participating crews.
The Costa Azahar and Puerto Azahar Regatta once again solidifies its position as a benchmark event, showcasing high sporting standards and demonstrating the participants' adaptability and competitive spirit in the face of such changing conditions.
