This initiative seeks to recover properties that have been vacated due to the renunciation or abandonment by their previous tenants, ensuring they are in optimal condition for new leases. The investment is distributed across the three provinces, with 4.3 million euros allocated to the province of Valencia, 3.2 million to Alicante, and one million to Castellón.
“"Just as we consider it a priority to increase the supply of protected housing, as it is a real necessity, so too is maintaining and preserving our public housing stock in dignified conditions."
The average repair cost per property is approximately 11,500 euros. Currently, work is underway on the rehabilitation of an additional 33 homes: 18 in the province of Alicante, 11 in Castellón, and four in Valencia, which will be added to the public housing stock once the works are completed.
Furthermore, the Generalitat allocated 1.34 million euros to repair nearly 50 homes affected by the DANA in October 2024. The most affected municipalities included Algemesí, with 37 damaged homes, and other locations such as Torrent, València, Alfafar, and Aldaia, all requiring significant repairs.
