The Valencian Generalitat, through the Valencian Housing and Land Entity (EVHA), has allocated over 8.6 million euros to repair 748 public housing units since the beginning of the legislature, aiming to facilitate new leases for families in need.

Since July 2023, the EVHA, attached to the First Vice-Presidency and Ministry of Housing, Employment, Youth and Equality, has carried out improvement works on 748 properties. Of these, 389 are located in the province of Valencia, 236 in Alicante, and 123 in Castellón.
These homes are recovered by the Generalitat after renunciations or abandonments by their previous tenants. The objective is to restore them to optimal living conditions for a new lease, allocating them to individuals who have applied for public housing and are in greater need.

"To ensure that the homes we offer are in perfect condition and that those we are repairing are not illegally occupied and can become the home of many people who can only access dignified housing through the administration's help."

Sebastián Fernández · Regional Secretary for Housing
The Regional Secretary for Housing, Sebastián Fernández, emphasized that housing has become a "priority issue" for the Consell. He highlighted the importance of maintaining and preserving the public housing stock in dignified conditions, while also increasing the supply of protected housing.
The investment is distributed with 4.3 million euros for the province of Valencia, 3.2 million for Alicante, and one million for Castellón. The average repair cost per property is estimated at approximately 11,500 euros.
Currently, work is underway on the rehabilitation of an additional 33 homes in various locations across the Comunitat Valenciana (18 in Alicante, 11 in Castellón, and 4 in Valencia), which will be made available to citizens once the works are completed. Furthermore, the passage of the DANA in October 2024 affected public housing groups, primarily in Algemesí (37 homes), Torrent, València, Alfafar, and Aldaia, with an additional investment of 1.34 million euros for their repair.
