Fundación Bancaja and ABANCA bring one of their most prominent exhibition proposals of recent years to Valencia, with a show that traces the evolution of art from the 20th and 21st centuries.

The exhibition, titled Commitment to Art. From Miró to Barceló, proposes a dialogue between two important institutional collections. It gathers in the capital of the Turia a total of 86 pieces by 59 national and international artists, with works dated between 1913 and 2023.
The exhibition, which previously visited the Afundación headquarters in A Coruña in 2025, now arrives in Valencia with a renewed selection of works. It seeks to connect different ways of understanding artistic creation throughout the last century.
The exhibition journey begins with historical avant-gardes featuring fundamental names such as Picasso, Miró, Kandinsky, Braque, Juan Gris, Paul Klee, Marc Chagall, or Giorgio De Chirico. It then moves towards different forms of understanding contemporary painting, including informalism with artists like Antonio Saura, Manolo Millares, Rafael Canogar, or Antoni Tàpies.
Proposals linked to geometric abstraction by Eusebio Sempere or José María Yturralde will also be on display. Contemporary abstraction also holds a prominent place with works by Sean Scully, José Manuel Broto, Antón Lamazares, José María Sicilia, or Günther Förg, along with more figurative or pop approaches by creators such as Equipo Crónica, Luis Gordillo, Darío Villalba, Anzo, or Miquel Barceló.
The tour is completed with pieces that evoke nature and the urban environment through artists such as Miquel Navarro, Cristina Iglesias, Urbano Lugrís, or Julian Opie, closing a diverse visual map that reflects the richness of contemporary creation.

"The project not only showcases works but also highlights the role of culture as a space for encounter and shared reflection."
