The agreement, reached in an assembly by the protesters, has allowed the central space of the square to be cleared. This measure facilitates the installation of the traditional 'rocas' and festive elements for a celebration that marks its seventh centenary this year.
The teachers, who have been on an indefinite strike for four weeks, have moved their tents to the sides of the square, closer to the Palau de la Generalitat. With this move, the protesters aim to make their demonstration compatible with the cultural events.
This weekend's program includes the performance of the Mystery of Saint Christopher and the pilgrims, traditional music concerts, and a performance by the Valencia Municipal Symphonic Band. The day will conclude with the traditional Nit de Festa through the historic center.
The main events will take place tomorrow with the pontifical mass, the Cavalcada del Convit, and the solemn Corpus Christi Procession. The latter will parade through the city center with giants, 'nanos', and the 'Moma', elements characteristic of a festival documented since the 14th century.
