This forum is conceived as a space for cultural mediation, multi-stakeholder listening, and collective reflection to address the challenges and opportunities presented by the growth of musical and cultural activity in urban settings. The initiative will bring together representatives from public administrations, international specialists, music industry professionals, neighborhood associations, and social agents linked to the city's cultural life. Access is free upon registration.
The conference starts from the premise that the challenges associated with urban cultural activity should not be approached confrontationally, but through dialogue and the search for balanced solutions that guarantee both cultural rights and the quality of life for citizens. According to the organization, the most innovative cities are developing new cultural governance models capable of reconciling creative activity with neighborhood coexistence, and Valencia has the opportunity to build its own model through listening and participation.
The first panel discussion, 'European Cultural Mediation and Governance Models,' will showcase pioneering experiences from various European cities. Participants include Carmen Zapata, Commissioner for the Night of the City Council of Barcelona; Martina Brunner, Executive Director of Vienna Club Commission (Austria); and Timo Wiesmann, representative of Hamburg Music City. Their presentations will offer examples of how different cities are managing coexistence between cultural activity, leisure, citizens, and urban sustainability.
The second panel, 'Weaving Urban Cultural Coexistence in Valencia,' will gather representatives from various sensitivities and sectors involved in the city's cultural life. Participants include Juan Pablo Valero, General Director of València Music City; María José Broseta, President of the Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Valencia; Sergi Almiñana, President of the Association of Music Promoters of the Valencian Community (MusicaProCV); and Víctor Pérez, President of the Federation of Leisure, Tourism, Gaming, Recreational Activities and Related Industries of the Valencian Community (Fotur).
Both sessions will be moderated by Antonio Beltrán Pueyo, a specialist in facilitating collective processes and organizational mediation, who will also act as rapporteur for the meeting's conclusions. Attendance is aimed at culture professionals, public officials, neighborhood entities, researchers, cultural managers, and citizens interested in the future of urban cultural coexistence.
