Dansa València will host an intense agenda of parallel activities from April 15 to 19, transcending mere exhibition and consolidating the cultural event as a strategic hub for internationalization, training, and mediation in the city of València.

The Minister of Education, Culture and Universities, Carmen Ortí, highlighted the relevance of this sectoral agenda, which attracts over a hundred professionals. She emphasized that the planned content directly responds to the demands of programmers, representatives of international and national networks, festival directors, and companies, aiming to strengthen the visibility of Valencian dance and expand mobility opportunities for creators.

Ortí also noted the significant increase in the presence of European cultural agents this year, which consolidates a mutual interest in strengthening ties between neighboring scenes and positions Dansa València as a reference platform in the Mediterranean and European arc.
One of the milestones of this edition is the selection of the Valencian festival as the venue for the in-person meeting of the Dance Festivals Network Europe. A dozen representatives from the 32 member festivals will advance the #DanceMattersEurope campaign on April 17 at the Centre del Carme Cultura Contemporània (CCCC), a joint initiative with the EDN and Aerowaves networks to advocate for the place of dance in European Union cultural policies.
This international aspect will be reinforced by the Reverse Mission of the Associació Valenciana d’Empreses de Dansa (AVED) in Sala 7 of the Rialto Building on April 16, and by the 'Nice to meet you' activity, which this year splits into a first professional contact session at the Rialto on the 16th and a second day at the CCCC on April 17, focusing on the presentation of works in progress by artists Lucía Jaén, Julia Zac, and the Andalusian company La Imbuición.
Support for the national and local fabric is also evident with the meeting of the Dance and Contemporary Creation commissions of La Red Española de Teatros on April 16 at the Hotel Only You, where the 'Cuaderno de Recomendaciones 2026' will be prepared. Additionally, the Teatre Principal will host the meeting of programmers from the Circuit Cultural Valencià on April 15, who will then attend the performance of Focus Valencià in the Sala Matilde Salvador of La Nau, a selection of six showcases from Valencian companies such as La Repetidora and Eyas Dance Project.
The Teatre Rialto and La Nau will be the venues on April 16 for the presentation of the III Mediterranean Pass, a project uniting professional dance associations from Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, Andalusia, and the Comunitat Valenciana to forge agreements that will culminate in El Campello (Alicante) in September.
The satellite program also dedicates a preferential space to high-level training. The 2026 training offer begins on April 11 at Espai LaGranja with a session on the ancient flamenco style of romance by dancer María Moreno, and a Waacking workshop taught by renowned master Rada. Methodologies by Mauricio Pérez Fayos and a workshop on Olga Álvarez's body awareness technique are also included.
For the public, Dansa València proposes a direct immersion in choreographic culture. On April 15, the Teatre Principal will be the meeting point for the presentation of three informative projects: the book '20 años de botellón cultural' celebrating the 20th anniversary of the company La Siamesa, the didactic project 'El libro de las Alegrías' by La calle baila publishing house, and the podcast 'Tinder Dance' by La Negra Produce.
Finally, Radio Nacional de España (RNE) will move to the lobby of the Teatre Principal for the live recording of the programs 'La Sala' and 'A compás', projecting the festival's news to the entire national audience. The Active Itineraries, coordinated by journalist Sara Esteller, offer guided tours to bring creative processes closer to non-expert audiences.
