LGTBIAQ+ collectives in València have decided to move the Pride demonstration to June 20th, one week before the Gay Games, to disassociate themselves from the international event.

This decision comes despite the Equality councilor, Rocío Gil, having expressed her willingness to collaborate with the collectives. However, they maintain their stance of rejection towards the Gay Games since the announcement of the modification of the Valencian trans law.
This year's demonstration will be held under the slogan «For your rights: Act now!» and, unlike previous years, will not include concerts or after-parties. The main reason is that the València City Council has not signed the collaboration agreement that allows assistance to vulnerable people throughout the year.

"We wanted to have a meeting for the signing with Rocío Gil since February. Despite the last signed agreement having a favorable technical evaluation for renewal, the PP councilor allowed herself to say that there would be no agreement because “you cannot come asking for money and then criticize us."

After a tense meeting held in April, the collectives received communication assuring the willingness to renew the agreement, but since then they have not been given a date for the meeting. This situation, according to the collectives, leaves dozens of families unprotected and questions whether the delay is intentional.
