A project from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, BioSoil, has been selected as one of the 10 finalists for the sixth edition of the imaginPlanet Challenge, an entrepreneurship program with environmental impact.

BioSoil, driven by students Hugo Lluch Vidal-Abarca, Alejandro Aymerich Pérez, and Clara González Blasco, stands out for its contribution to soil regeneration and improved crop nutrition. It utilizes technology integrating genetic circuits to enhance soil health and promote more advanced, responsible, and sustainable agriculture.
The imaginPlanet Challenge program, organized by imagin, CaixaBank's digital bank for young people, offers training and tools to university and vocational training students aged 16 and over with social or environmental impact entrepreneurship ideas. The goal is to support a young generation with ecological awareness and entrepreneurial aspirations.
The main prize for the winning team includes a 10-day stay in Silicon Valley, with visits to tech companies such as Netflix, Google HQ, Instagram, HP, IDEO, and training at Stanford and Berkeley universities. Additionally, the winners will join imagin's Alumni community for ongoing support.
In this edition, BioSoil was chosen from 925 participating teams, representing over 6,500 registered young individuals. In total, more than 17,500 young people have participated across the program's six editions, which has seen many awarded projects establish themselves as companies and secure investment rounds.
imagin, with over 4 million young customers, positions itself as the leading digital bank for this demographic, offering financial and non-financial services, including accounts, cards, financing, and investment, all operated exclusively via mobile since 2016, supported by CaixaBank's network.
