Benicarló's Science Week kicks off this Wednesday with a program that includes a minister's visit, educational talks, and activities for all ages, highlighting local talent.

The 14th edition of Benicarló's Science Week has begun its program this Wednesday, following the suspension of activities planned for Monday and Tuesday. The event will bring together researchers, communicators, and specialists in various scientific fields over the coming days.
Wednesday's agenda includes the participation of young Benicarló scientist Mariona Giner Mascarell, a computational cosmology researcher in the United States, who will offer several outreach talks on the universe and black holes. Additionally, at 6:00 PM, a round table discussion titled ‘Why don't we look at plants? The botanical vision of Ferran Royo Pla’ will take place, featuring specialists in botany and natural heritage.
One of the central events of this edition will be the visit of a minister to the MucBe this Thursday. The head of the Science portfolio will participate in the presentation of several scientific projects developed by students from Benicarló and recognized internationally. Her presence reinforces the projection of a Science Week that once again positions the city as a meeting point for research, education, and scientific dissemination.
Thursday will also feature a conference by Benicarló scientist Miguel Cornelles Soriano, a CSIC researcher, who will address the physics of complex systems and the relationship between photonics, artificial intelligence, and collective behaviors. The program will continue on Friday with a conference by science historian Juan Pimentel, who will give a talk titled ‘Treasures and ghosts of Spanish science’.
On Saturday, Science Week will tackle one of the most current topics, artificial intelligence, with a conference on its challenges and opportunities. Following this, a popular science communicator known as ‘Operador Nuclear’ will offer a talk on the role of nuclear energy in the future energy landscape. The closing ceremony will take place on Sunday with ‘El Circo de los Sentidos’, an immersive family activity that will transform Sant Bartomeu Square into a space for sensory experimentation for all audiences.
