The rise in Valencia's Fallas census, surpassing 126,819 members, has led to the need to reconsider the Offering ceremony, introducing a third session to manage participation.

The Fallas festival faces a new scenario marked by sustained growth in its membership. As of May 30th, 126,819 Fallas members have been registered, an increase of 4,000 people compared to the previous year, despite many committees having already closed new registrations. This figure represents a 3.3% increase and consolidates an upward trend expected to exceed 130,000 members for the 2027 Fallas.
This material growth has driven the decision to reform the Fallas week calendar, including a third session for the Flower Offering. The measure responds not only to the need to extend the traditional event's schedule but also to a moral concern: the participation of minors during late-night hours. Images of children parading in the early hours of the morning had raised concerns about their well-being.
The calendar reform plans for the first Offering session to take place on March 16th, followed by a second on the 17th and the new third session on March 18th. This change entails a reordering of other events, such as the planting of the children's and main Fallas, and the award ceremonies, which will be concentrated on the preceding days.
The increase in the Fallas census, which already exceeds 2024 figures by more than 13.6%, demonstrates the festival's vitality. However, a paradox is observed: while the number of adults is growing significantly, children's participation remains stagnant, even showing a slight decrease in the number of girls. This is attributed to the slowdown in birth rates and poses a challenge for the festival's generational succession.
