The race to become the next Fallera Mayor de València and join her court of honor for 2027 has officially begun. Registration for this long and anticipated process opens on May 20th, marking the start of a competition that will span five months.
The assembly of the Junta Central Fallera has given its unanimous approval to the process. Among the new measures, the conditions for becoming a final phase juror have been tightened, now requiring a sworn declaration to ensure impartiality. Daily monitoring of candidates' activities and full attendance from jury members will also be implemented.
The registration period for candidates runs from May 20th to June 15th. The vast majority of aspirants will be the falleras mayores from the previous year's commissions, while a smaller number will register due to renunciations by the current holders or because their commission did not have a fallera mayor.
To be a candidate, one must be registered with a commission for at least two years (the past and current) and have no pending disciplinary proceedings. Pre-selections will commence on June 26th at the Pabellón Norte and continue on June 27th and 28th, as well as July 3rd, 4th, 5th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 17th, and 18th in both pavilions. Fallas sectors can propose dates, and in case of conflicts, a draw will be held on May 28th.
The final phase will take place after the summer, summoning the 73 candidates for the second stage, which will conclude at the Roig Arena. The final announcement of the Fallera Mayor de València will occur after the weekend of October 9th, concluding a five-month process.
