The Port Authority of Valencia (APV) has awarded the drafting of the project for the maritime phase of the Port de Sagunt Pier, aiming to define future alternatives for this infrastructure.

This decision comes despite previous hesitations from the APV, chaired by Mar Chao, regarding the economic and environmental viability of an investment that would not involve port exploitation and could be affected by climate change. The initial commitment with the Sagunt City Council was to extend the land-based promenade several hundred meters into the sea.
The tender, valued at over 180,000 euros, seeks a project that includes works for the environmental integration of the dismantled maritime section of the Pier, assessing the technical and economic feasibility of the proposed solutions.
The task has been entrusted to a temporary joint venture (UTE) comprising Senner Mobility, based in Biscay, and Gaudium Ingenieros from Madrid. These companies have eight months to deliver the documentation. The APV's commission does not explicitly mention the promenade but does request an assessment of the work required for the complete dismantling of the old Pier.
