The definitive report issued by the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency regarding the actions of the Councilor for Major Projects and Contracting, José Marí Olano, in the Municipal Contracting Board, concludes that there is no responsibility on the part of the Valencia City Council.

The mayor of Valencia highlighted this Thursday that the document does not urge the council to carry out an official review of the questioned contracts. This resolution was issued based on a complaint alleging that the councilor failed to recuse himself from the Municipal Contracting Board due to a professional relationship with one of the bidding companies.

"The Anti-Fraud report reflects that there is no responsibility of the City Council. It does not urge us to carry out an official review of the contracts because it determines that with or without the abstention of Councilor Marí Olano, it would not have conditioned the awarded contracts."

The municipal official assured that all awards were made unanimously and always following the criteria provided by both the internal management service and the Contracting technicians. Therefore, she insisted that neither the abstention nor the non-abstention of the councilor influenced the outcome at all.
Furthermore, the definitive report justifies and certifies that European funds linked to some contracts are not compromised. The legal services of the City Council are preparing recommendations based on this report, which will be implemented.

"It is the legal services of the house that will evaluate the report and recommend the improvements to be made. And that is what we are going to do."
