The activity, part of the Vithas Aula Salud Colegios project, was led by the hospital's nursing director, Paula Castells, along with three nurses. The main objective was to equip schoolchildren with the necessary tools to identify emergency situations and know how to act appropriately.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a crucial emergency technique to maintain oxygen circulation in the body during events like a heart attack or drowning. According to Paula Castells, “the application of CPR can be decisive for a person's survival.” Although cardiopulmonary arrest is less common in children, training is vital for acting in cases of respiratory or pulse failure, especially following accidents or serious illnesses.
The Vithas Aula Salud Colegios program is offered free of charge to students of all educational levels. This initiative is part of the broader Vithas Aula Salud project by the Vithas group, aimed at promoting education on healthy habits and healthcare, reinforcing their commitment to social well-being.
