The Department of Citizen Participation of the Villena City Council has opened the application period for grants aimed at neighborhood associations, a line of aid that this year increases its funding by 20% to reach 30,000 euros.

The call, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante (BOPA), is aimed at neighborhood entities with registered offices in Villena that carry out their activities within the municipal area. The objective is to foster citizen participation and strengthen the local associative fabric by supporting socio-cultural initiatives promoted by neighborhood groups.
According to the call, the grants will be used to cover expenses derived from activities organized by the associations themselves, with the aim of revitalizing neighborhoods and promoting citizen involvement in community life.
The application period will remain open until October 13, 2026, and the bases can be consulted through the electronic headquarters of the Villena City Council.

To promote neighborhood participation and support the work that associations do for coexistence, culture, and social cohesion in the different neighborhoods of Villena.

The councilor for Citizen Participation, Alba Laserna, highlighted the importance of this line of aid in achieving these objectives.
