The Villena Es Música (VEM) festival celebrates its tenth anniversary on June 12th and 13th in Villena, solidifying its position as a key cultural event with over a thousand musicians and 27 hours of live music.

Under the slogan '10 years of music and life,' the VEM is preparing for a special edition taking place on June 12th and 13th. This free event, open to all audiences, will bring together over a thousand musicians, offering 27 hours of live music. The announcement was made by the mayor of Villena, Fulgencio Cerdán, accompanied by the Councillor for Culture, María Server; the director of the KAKV, José Ayelo; and the director of the Teatro Chapí, Paco Flor.
This edition reintroduces emblematic city spaces, such as the Castillo viewpoint stage, which will host electronic music, and the Plaza de las Malvas. Furthermore, the festival maintains its charitable aspect, with efforts this year dedicated to APAC, the regional association for people affected by cancer. As of today, the call for musical groups interested in participating in the lineup is open.
The VEM also strengthens its support for local artistic creation with the fifth edition of the 'Momentos VEM' photography contest and the second edition of the recording contest for bands presenting original songs.

"VEM continues to uphold its foundational values, such as free admission, proximity, inclusion, intergenerational character, great musical diversity, and solidarity."

Fulgencio Cerdán · Mayor of Villena
The proclamation for this tenth edition will be delivered by Antonio Molina, a musician from Villena, composer, and technical manager of the Teatro Chapí and VEM since its inception. The event will take place on June 12th at 7:30 PM, and Molina is expected to share his personal vision and journey connected to the festival.

"VEM was born with the clear idea of turning music into a meeting point, a shared celebration where different musical styles, generations, and ways of experiencing music coexist."

María Server · Councillor for Culture
The organizers of VEM have expressed their gratitude to the City Council and the sponsors. José Ayelo, director of the KAKV, highlighted VEM as an "innovative, different project that has been maintained for ten years." For his part, Paco Flor, director of the Teatro Chapí, emphasized the importance of volunteer work and called for participation to "experience music from within."
