As the 2026 Sports Personality, Amparo Escrich García was honored for her career in athletics, becoming the F55 Spanish runner-up in the 'Media Maratón de Mérida' and the overall winner of the Trail Navarrés, among other achievements earned through her consistency and effort.
The 'XXXVIII Entrada de Toros y Caballos' Cycling Race was highlighted as a notable activity for 2026. Organized by UCAP, it took place in April during the Víctor Cabedo Trophy and the Volta Castelló, which started from the capital of Alto Palancia on its third stage.
The emblematic Serrano Theater also served as the venue for the awards ceremony for the Logo and Slogan Contests, which were presented to Irene Lara Tortajada and Darío Guillén Escuder, respectively.
The Department of Sports and the Municipal Sports Council organized an emotional evening, with special mentions for Aitor Embela Gil (football), Jorge Chanza Zapata (football), and Pilar Nemesio Santafé (a 90-year-old resident of Segorbe, for her example of vitality). Elite athlete Hugo Fajardo Bonanad (cycling) was also recognized.
The 2026 honorees included: Antonio Miguel Lara Gil (posthumously, for his dedication to the 'Alto Palancia' Cycling Union); Isaac Cebrián Pérez (for his dedication to C. Atletisme Saltamontes); Alberto Asensio Romero (for his dedication to the Segorbe Basketball Club); Francisco Muñoz Barón (for his dedication to the 'La Diana Segorbina' Hunting Sports Club); Manuela Guillén Escrig, Nora Barea Llora, Sara Torres Simón, and Guillermo Mínguez Polo (for participating with the Valencian Futsal Team of Segorbe in the Spanish Championship); Eloy Arándiga Gómez (for his career at Club Deportivo Segorbe); and Irene Marco Gálvez (for her career at the Club de Triatlón Alto Palancia).
