The municipality of Matet will join the Provincial Council of Castellón's protection plan, which includes the installation of two video surveillance cameras at access points to bolster security.

The Provincial Council of Castellón, led by Marta Barrachina, has announced a protection plan that involves installing video surveillance cameras in 181 urban centers with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants, representing a total investment of 4.4 million euros. Matet is among the municipalities that will join this initiative.
The mayor of Matet, Rosa Guillermo Tortajada, announced the municipality's participation in the project, highlighting that the investment for Matet will exceed 17,000 euros and will enable the installation of two devices at the access points. Guillermo emphasized the value of this initiative, calling it a "solution for our municipality" and stressing that the technology is "cutting-edge" and "highly useful for the State Security Forces and Corps".
According to the mayor, these systems help "mitigate the limitations we face in security matters as a rural area," and she believes that "it adds value to our municipality." The process for joining the program has already been completed.
Rosa Guillermo Tortajada stated that the project demonstrates "that rural areas matter to the Provincial Council of Castellón," as "the interior is not just a summer and weekend destination" but "all year round." The mayor believes that initiatives like this "show that our full potential is now being recognized," which "helps us grow".
