The president of the provincial institution, Marta Barrachina, attended this Saturday the Torneo Gol a la Despoblación (Goal Against Depopulation Tournament), held at this ground. The investment will be made through an agreement between the Deputation and the Caudiel City Council for the installation of artificial turf and improvements to the irrigation system.
Barrachina emphasized that "sport is a powerful tool against rural depopulation" and that this action addresses an important demand, significantly improving the safety and enjoyment of users, who will no longer have to travel to other municipalities for training.
The initiative is part of the provincial government's commitment to provide all municipalities with "accessible, dignified, safe, and modern" sports facilities, as "sport is life, health, and well-being," the president stated.
The improvement of the Caudiel football pitch also responds to the fight against depopulation, as the enhancements will allow for greater sports practice in this space, fostering community and revitalizing local life. "Sport creates roots, and when a town offers active leisure opportunities, it becomes a more attractive place to live," remarked Barrachina.
The youth academy of Club Atlético Caudiel includes players from municipalities such as Caudiel, Viver, Benafer, Montán, Montanejos, and Cortes de Arenoso. The project funded by the Deputation aims to create an "inter-regional" pitch usable by other clubs.
The Torneo Gol a la Despoblación, hosted at the El Olivar pitch, celebrated its fourth edition with teams from various categories, championing the slogan that sport is a vital engine for small rural municipalities.
