The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has awarded a contract worth 14.2 million euros for the rehabilitation of the road surface on the A-23 highway, specifically the section connecting Segorbe-Altura with the viaduct over the Palancia River, in the province of Castellón.

The project will be carried out between kilometers 31.05 and 37.75 of the highway. The works include resurfacing the asphalt with new bituminous mixtures, aiming to improve road regularity and extend its lifespan. This contract has already been published on the Public Sector Procurement Platform and is part of the state road network's conservation and maintenance program.
The works will involve raising the existing road surface, which will require adjusting all road elements to the new elevation. Additionally, in sections where necessary, milling, subgrade remediation, and deep drainage improvements will be carried out through the construction of trenches.
The main objective of this intervention is to enhance the driving conditions and preservation of one of the primary road axes connecting the Valencian Community with Aragon. Since June 2018, the Ministry has invested over 115.4 million euros in the province of Castellón as part of this conservation program.
