The investment, totaling 633,354 euros, is part of the municipal commitment to consolidate the future of these facilities. The actions have focused on energy efficiency, digitalization, and the renovation and modernization of spaces and services. The spa's remodeling is part of the Sustainable Tourism Plan in Destination and is funded by Next Generation EU funds, within the Spanish Government's Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
The main action has been the modernization of the spa's hot water production system to make it more efficient and reduce consumption. The previous system has been partially replaced by new equipment based on renewable energies, including aerothermal and geothermal systems. In addition, new services have also been incorporated to enhance the spa's appeal.
Among the new features are a salt cabin, an infrared sauna for the back, new jacuzzis, and improvements to the jet cabins and the main pool. These additions aim to offer a more complete and modern experience to users.
“"Unlike other towns, we have opted for our spa as a fundamental resource that generates employment and value as an element of tourist deseasonalization, thanks also to its inclusion in the two major social tourism programs, both the Imserso of the Spanish Government and the Valencian Thermalism of the Generalitat."
The municipal official emphasized the importance of this action, which strengthens the future of the spa as an economic and tourist engine for the municipality and the entire region. He added that the reform is an ambitious intervention that, thanks to European funding, ensures the future viability of the spa and its ability to continue being a driving force for Montanejos throughout the year.
