From this weekend, April 18 and 19, and until Sunday, May 10, 2026, Montanejos invites residents and visitors to explore its bars and enjoy dishes made with zero-kilometer products and the quality seal of the Castelló Ruta de Sabor brand.
The route is not limited to tasting; the program is complemented by free gastronomic experiences during weekends. These include showcookings, field trips, guided tours, and tastings, turning the visit into a complete immersion in the culinary culture of Alto Mijares.
A total of eight establishments in Montanejos are participating in this edition, each with its own proposal combining local products, modern techniques, and nods to traditional cuisine. Among the tapas are the cod and caramelized pepper montadito from Bar Avenida-Xauen, the pâté and goat cheese toast from Bar Los Luises, or “El Abrazo” from Bar-Rte. Mijares, featuring puff pastry from Horno Collado and local products.
Other notable offerings include the “Baby Black Palace” mini burger from Hotel-restaurant El Palacio, the dessert “El Postre” from La Querencia, the artisan ice cream parlor, and the “Montanejos Jamaika clash” sirloin skewer from La Sede Gastrobar. L’Ermita also participates with a trout tartare, and River Club with a matured cheese arepa.
The free gastronomic experiences, with limited spaces, include visits to the Mieles la Alquería warehouse, botanical outings with chef Vanesa Bustos, and showcookings with MasterChef 11 participants like Francesc Repiso, as well as with Elora Ramírez and Alex De Barros from La Querencia. To participate in these activities, prior registration is required at the Montanejos Tourist Office.
The public can also actively participate by voting for the tapas tasted, entering a draw for two prizes: a premium session for two people at the Montanejos Spa and a guided tasting tour for two people at the Cooperativa de Viver. Additionally, by sharing the experience on Instagram with the tag @visitmontanejos, participants can win a basket of products from the Cooperativa de Viver.
