The project, part of the Sustainable Tourism Plan in Destination, has been funded by Next Generation EU funds within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Government of Spain. The main objective has been to modernize the hot water production system to make it more efficient and reduce consumption, partially replacing the previous system with equipment based on renewable energies, such as aerothermal and geothermal.
In addition to energy improvements, the facility incorporates new services to increase its appeal. Among the novelties are a salt cabin, an infrared sauna for the back, new jacuzzis, and improvements to both the jet cabins and the main pool. These additions aim to strengthen the spa's activity throughout the year.
“"Unlike other towns, we have opted for our spa as a fundamental resource that generates employment and value as an element of tourist deseasonalization, thanks also to its inclusion in the two major social tourism programs, both that of Imserso of the Government of Spain and that of Valencian Thermalism of the Generalitat."
The municipal management has highlighted the importance of this action, which strengthens the future of the spa as an economic and tourist engine for the municipality and the entire region. This reform, with European funding, ensures the future viability of the spa and its capacity to continue revitalizing Montanejos throughout the year.
