The Provincial Water Consortium has made an emergency investment of 100,000 euros in the Meanes well to guarantee the drinking water supply for seven municipalities in the province of Castellón.

This urgent intervention was carried out to resolve a detected fault that jeopardized the service in towns such as Atzeneta del Maestrat, Benafigos, Culla, Torre d'en Besora, Les Useres, Vall d'Alba, and Vilar de Canes.

"From the Provincial Government, our commitment to the needs and unforeseen situations of all municipalities is paramount to guarantee a service as basic and vital as water."

Iván Sánchez · Deputy for the Integrated Water Cycle
Deputy Iván Sánchez explained that the action was necessary due to a significant decrease in the pumping flow, caused by a possible leak in the pipeline, problems with the wiring, and the pump itself. The installation was in a critical situation, preventing the guarantee of supply to delivery points that depend exclusively on this production source.
The technical report classified the fault as a technical and sanitary emergency, as the inability to ensure the minimum vital flow posed an imminent risk to the health of the affected populations. Therefore, immediate emergency intervention was justified to restore service as quickly as possible.
The Provincial Water Consortium acted with the aim of preventing the interruption of an essential service. The deputy emphasized that ensuring the supply of drinking water throughout the province, especially in smaller towns with fewer resources, is and will continue to be an absolute priority for the Diputación de Castellón.
