The Provincial Water Consortium has invested 100,000 euros in the Meanes well to resolve a critical breakdown and ensure water supply in seven municipalities of the province.

The emergency action by the Provincial Water Consortium has been carried out in the Meanes well to prevent the loss of supply in the towns of Atzeneta del Maestrat, Benafigos, Culla, Torre d'en Besora, Les Useres, Vall d'Alba, and Vilar de Canes. This intervention, with an investment of 100,000 euros, aims to guarantee a basic and vital service for citizens.

"From the Provincial Government, our commitment to the needs and unforeseen situations of all municipalities is maximum, to be able to guarantee a service as basic and vital as water."

Iván Sánchez · Deputy for the Integrated Water Cycle
Deputy Iván Sánchez explained that the intervention was urgent due to a considerable decrease in the pumping flow, caused by a possible leak in the pipeline, problems with the wiring, and the pump itself. The installation was in a critical situation, risking supply to delivery points that depend exclusively on this production point.
The technical report has classified the breakdown in the pumping pipeline and the pumping equipment of the Meanes Well as a technical and sanitary emergency. The impossibility of guaranteeing the minimum vital flow represented an imminent risk to the health of the affected populations, thus justifying immediate emergency intervention to restore service as soon as possible.

"Ensuring the supply of drinking water throughout the province, with special attention to the smallest towns, which have the fewest resources, is and will continue to be an absolute priority for this Provincial Council."
