Rural and sustainable tourism continues to gain followers, offering an alternative to large cities. In this context, Aldea Ecorural, located in Vilar de Canes, stands out for its specialization in couple's tourism. This project, managed by a couple who arrived in the town about 16 years ago, offers three romantic cottages.
“"We decided to leave our jobs and come to a quieter area, close to nature."
After five years of training in ecology and customer service, the business opened about 14 years ago. The cottages, integrated into the rural and natural environment, are fully equipped to offer relaxation and comfort. Two of them have a private jacuzzi, and another features a relaxation space that mimics a Roman bath, converting an old wine press into a unique attraction.
The project has built a loyal clientele through word-of-mouth, with reservations throughout the year, especially in July and August, and on weekends. Most visitors come from the regions of Valencia, Castellón city, Benicarló, and Vinaròs.
Although the main focus is couple's tourism, one of the cottages has capacity for four people, being occasionally rented by families. The complex also offers a common area with a swimming pool and barbecue, and allows pets. The managers have made rural tourism their way of life, finding in it a calmer and healthier way to live, while contributing to the economic development of the area.
