Four Injured in Head-on Collision on A-7 in Tibi Involving Wrong-Way Driver

Two of the seriously injured were airlifted to Alcoy Hospital, while the other two were transported to Elda.

A serious head-on collision on the A-7 highway, near Tibi, has resulted in four injured individuals, two of whom are in serious condition, and caused a temporary traffic stoppage.

The incident, which occurred this Sunday at 4:38 PM at the exit of the municipality towards Alicante, involved two vehicles, one of which was traveling in the wrong direction.
According to the Alicante Provincial Firefighters Consortium, the frontal collision left four people injured. The two most seriously affected were evacuated by medical helicopter Alfa 9 to Mare de Déu dels Lliris Hospital in Alcoy.
The other two injured individuals were transported by ambulance to Elda Hospital. Six units from the Ibi and Sant Vicent del Raspeig fire stations, along with medical services, were mobilized to the scene.
The accident forced a complete closure of this section of the highway, leading to traffic jams of about two kilometers. The DGT established a mandatory diversion via roads CV-827 and CV-815 to facilitate mobility.
Currently, operators are removing the involved vehicles, and traffic is gradually resuming in the affected area.
