This annual march is a meeting point for individuals and groups from various regions, who unite to raise their voices against the escalating warfare and rearmament. The main objective is to call for peace, the protection of the Serra d'Aitana without military uses, and to express rejection of the militarization of society and the violent resolution of conflicts.
The day will begin at 9:00 AM from the gates of Safari Aitana. Scheduled departures have been organized from Elx, Alcoi, and Gandia, with the Gandia departure at 7:30 AM from Ausiàs March Park, next to the Vilallonga road. From the Safari, participants will walk approximately two kilometers to Port de Tudons, where the access to military installations is located.
“"The March in Aitana will be, once again, a day of protest and recreation to demand Peace, the protection of a mountain range without military uses, and also to express our rejection of the militarization of society and the violent solution to conflicts."
In Tudons, a political act will take place, including the reading of the manifesto of the XXII March. Afterwards, attendees can enjoy a popular picnic lunch in the pine forest located in front of the military base entrance. Upon completion, they will move on foot or by car to the recreational area of Font de l'Arbre, where additional activities will be held, such as a botanical excursion guided by a biologist.
The day will conclude with a communal lunch, also picnic-style, at the same Font de l'Arbre. Participants are advised to bring appropriate footwear for mountain walking, a hat, a canteen, and sun protection, in addition to their breakfast and lunch.
