The state entity Casa 47 plans to offer 485 affordable homes in the Valencian Community in the next call, with new projects in Alicante and Alcoy.

The president of Casa 47, Leire Iglesias, has announced that the state entity plans to offer 485 affordable homes in the Valencian Community in the next call. The announcement was made during the meeting Dialogue for Housing: From Commitment to Execution, which was also attended by the Director General of Housing and Land of the Spanish government, Inés Sandoval; the government sub-delegate in Alicante, Manuel Pineda; and the mayor of Alcoy, Toni Francés.
Of the total planned homes, 157 will be built in the province of Alicante, specifically in Dénia, Elche, Monóvar, Novelda, Orihuela, and Pedreguer. As Casa 47 has highlighted, this action will represent "a significant boost to affordable housing" in the province.
In addition, the entity has recently acquired three plots in the Colonia de Aviación area of Alcoy, owned by Invied, where up to 170 affordable homes are planned. Iglesias explained that once the public deed is formalized, demolition work on the disused buildings will begin.
In parallel, the works planned in the approved urbanization project will be put out to tender, aimed at the urban renewal and services of the affected area following the specific modification of Alcoy's General Urban Planning Plan in the Colonia de Aviación zone.
The president of Casa 47 highlighted that concentrating "the entire housing cycle" in a public company allows for "overlapping timelines" and assured that Colonia de Aviación will be "an example of this management".
Finally, Iglesias also referred to the open call for the acquisition of municipal land with the aim of promoting housing in municipalities affected totally or partially by the 'dana' storm in the province of Valencia. This line has a budget of 22.8 million euros.
As she advanced, the Spanish government will relax some of the call's conditions "to complete this action" and maintain "the commitment with the municipalities affected by the 'dana' until full recovery is achieved".
