Writer Carles Cortés has presented his latest novel, titled Nu, at an event held this Wednesday at the Fundación Mutua Levante in Alcoy, his hometown.

The presentation served as a reunion for the author, who shared the evening with former classmates from the Pare Vitòria institute and the Salesian school. The work, published by Vincle Editorial, stems from the recovery of personal notebooks that the writer found twelve years ago, which contained notes about his time as a university student.
The author defines Nu as a piece of autofiction that addresses male vulnerability and the complexity of affective relationships. Through his literary alter ego, Teseu, the text covers several decades of life, from the eighties to the present day, focusing on the construction of identity and the need to be accepted.

"Without the desire to scandalize gratuitously, but with the need to make people uncomfortable when necessary."

The event was attended by numerous figures from local culture and politics, including the mayor of Alcoy, Toni Francés, and the Councilor for Culture, Elisa Guillem. During the presentation, the author's career, as a Professor of Contemporary Catalan Literature at the University of Alicante, was highlighted as one of the most relevant voices in current narrative.
