The town of L'Alcora will host the 30th Pilgrimage through the Hermitages this Saturday, April 11, an event that will feature 13 pilgrims, seven of whom will be women, maintaining the trend of female majority.

This 30th edition will bring together a total of 13 pilgrims: 7 women and 6 men. This composition reflects a higher female presence, although more balanced than in previous years, such as in 2022, when all participants were women.
The pilgrims participating in this significant route are Adela Vaquero Bellés, Adrián de la Cruz Casado, Alejandro Reyes Escribano, Iván Garrido López, Lucía Pallarés Peris, Ramón Salvador Badenes, Desirée Mollón Nebot, María Escribano López, Carmen Bellés Casellas, Sara Tomás García, Clementina Monferrer Prades, Jorge Lázaro Gozalbo, and Desirée Sánchez Chiva.

"It is one of the few pilgrimages in Spain where women can participate as main protagonists."

Agustín Gozalbo · Pilgrimage Coordinator
The pilgrimage coordinator, Agustín Gozalbo, expressed his gratitude for the participants' involvement and highlighted the deeply religious nature of this itinerary. The route, approximately 35 kilometers long, connects all the hermitages in the municipality of L'Alcora, including Calvario, San Joaquín y Santa Ana in Araia, San Cristóbal, San Vicente, San Miguel in La Foia, and the Salvador hermitage, located at the foot of the Castillo de L'Alcalatén. The arrival in the town of L'Alcora is scheduled for around 10:00 PM, culminating with a brotherhood act at the Parish of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción.
The organization, run by the pilgrimage group and the local parish, focuses not only on the physical and spiritual aspects but also on environmental awareness. Activities such as preparatory hiking excursions, tree planting, and mountain cleaning are carried out. Additionally, the preparation includes Lenten talks and religious sessions in the parish halls, fostering coexistence and friendship among participants and veteran pilgrims.
