The festive day began at 09:00 AM with the departure of the official procession from the Church Square. The pilgrimage was led by the dolçaina and tabal, and included the presence of the clergy, local authorities, the queen and ladies of the festivities, the Colla Gegantera (Giants Group), the music band, and numerous pilgrims.
After arriving at the Hermitage of San Vicente, declared a Site of Local Relevance, mass was officiated, followed by the traditional country lunch. Typical products such as broad bean or tender garlic omelets and the San Vicente panà, a cake made with hard-boiled egg, lean meat, pine nuts, and sausage, were enjoyed.
Music also played a prominent role in the hermitage area with a concert by the Agrupación Musical l'Alcalatén, one of the highlights of the morning and one of the most anticipated events of this festivity.
The Mocadorà celebrates 25 years since its recovery, a tradition linked to the 20th century that revives the old custom where boyfriends would give their partners a handkerchief with sweets after mass at the Hermitage of San Vicente.
This practice ceased to be celebrated in the 1950s and was recovered in 2002 by the Coordinator of Cultural Associations of l'Alcalatén and the neighborhoods of l'Alcora. This year, the event reaches its 25th edition since that recovery.
To mark this anniversary, the handkerchief wrapping the sugared almonds, nougats, and marzipans features a design by Mª Pilar Avilés Cabedo from l'Alcora, winner of the 2026 competition. Her proposal incorporates municipal heritage elements such as the hermitage, the old giants, and ceramics from the Royal Factory.
The festival program has also included a children's play park for the enjoyment of the little ones. At 1:00 PM, the pilgrimage began its descent back to the urban center, and in the afternoon, the celebration continues with activities organized by the Barri de la Sang.
The festivity of Saint Vincent thus once again brings together tradition, heritage, music, and neighborly coexistence in l'Alcora, in one of the most deeply rooted celebrations of the capital of l'Alcalatén.
