The stoppages, called by the Spanish Union of Railway Drivers (Semaf), began after the strike already held during Fallas. The new strike days are scheduled for April 16, 21, 23, 28, and 30.
These stoppages will be concentrated in three specific time slots: from 07:00 to 10:00 hours, from 13:00 to 16:00 hours, and from 19:00 to 21:00 hours. They will affect all lines of Metrovalència and TRAM d'Alacant.
During these slots, Metrovalència has assured that service will be guaranteed with modifications to usual schedules, but with 75% of programmed trains operating. In the case of TRAM d'Alacant, minimum services will be 80% this Thursday, and will drop to 75% on the remaining strike days planned for April.
Semaf justifies the strike call due to problems in the negotiation of the XIV collective agreement and the dissatisfaction of the drivers. They consider there is “inaction by the company” regarding operational safety and labor improvements.
