The philosopher and writer Santiago Beruete, known for his work on the relationship between humans and nature, presents his new book, Filosíntesis, this Friday, April 17, at the Raíces bookstore in Alicante.

Following the success of titles such as Verdolatría and Aprendívoros, Santiago Beruete, a professor and writer, returns to Alicante to share his new literary proposal. The event will take place at 7 PM at the Raíces bookstore, located at number 8 Álvarez Sereix street, and is part of the commemorative events for the bookstore's 50th anniversary.
On this occasion, Beruete will converse with cultural manager Paco Linares about Filosíntesis. Espiritualidad y filosofía desde el jardín, a work published by Taurus that invites reflection on the wisdom that plants can offer to find our place in the world. Admission to the presentation is free.

Wisdom cannot be taught or bought. Each person must, in imitation of flora, create their own spiritual nourishment. The process of elaborating this practical knowledge could well be called Filosíntesis. This is how to answer the philosophical question par excellence: how to live in the best possible way?

The publisher highlights that, just as we extract active principles from the plant kingdom to treat the ailments of body and soul, we can also obtain valuable lessons from it on how to think and act in a healthy and beneficial way. Beruete, with degrees in Anthropology and Philosophy, and a doctorate in the latter discipline, has dedicated three decades to teaching, research, and literary creation from the island of Ibiza.
His work, which includes poetry collections, short stories, novels, and essays, has been recognized with various national and international awards. Books such as Jardinosofía, Verdolatría, Aprendívoros, and Un trozo de tierra have been translated into several languages, including French, Italian, Chinese, and Arabic, solidifying the garden as a central metaphor in his philosophy.
