The recognition for Santa Pola is part of the global success of the Comunitat Valenciana, which has obtained a total of 174 distinctions in this edition. These include 152 beaches, 20 marinas, and two tourist boats, representing an increase of ten awards compared to the previous year.
During the regional event held in Xilxes, the regional minister for Environment, Infrastructure, Territory and Recovery highlighted the collective effort of the municipalities and the professionals working on the coast. According to the regional official, these distinctions certify the excellence, environmental quality, safety, and sustainability of the coastal areas.
“"Each flag also represents a commitment to future generations: to leave them a better coast, a cleaner Mediterranean, and a more sustainable territory."
In addition to Santa Pola, other towns in the province of Alicante such as Benissa, Calp, El Campello, Jávea, and Altea have seen their leadership in the Costa Blanca strengthened with the addition or recovery of these international badges.
