A journalist has been honored with the VIII Environmental Journalism Award of the Province of Alicante for his report on the natural richness of butterflies in an Alicante mountain range.

The awarded work, titled La sierra de las mariposas: un paraíso en la provincia de Alicante, focuses on the importance of these insects and their fundamental role in pollination. The distinction recognizes informative work related to the environment in the province.
The award ceremony took place at an event attended by the Association of Journalists of the Province of Alicante (APPA) and Veolia, the entities promoting this recognition. The journalist received an accredited diploma and a financial endowment of 500 euros.

"The awarded work allows us to discover the value of butterflies and their function within the natural balance, bringing environmental challenges closer to citizens."
