After several days marked by haze, Saharan dust, and unusually high temperatures for the season, a front associated with a low-pressure system will drastically alter climatic conditions. This change has already begun with variable skies, and the situation is expected to intensify over the weekend.
For Saturday, an increase in cloudiness and the first weak to moderate showers are anticipated, often in the form of mud, especially in the interior and south of the Valencia Region. The wind will also begin to blow strongly, with moderate to strong tramontana and mistral winds, particularly in mountainous areas and exposed coastlines. The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has activated yellow alerts for adverse phenomena in the Valencia Region, with widespread precipitation that could be locally heavy in the south of Alicante.
Sunday will be the most challenging day of the episode, with widespread instability, grey skies, and more persistent rain. The temperature drop will be very significant, with maximums ranging between 13 °C and 17 °C in many areas, and lower values in the northern interior of the Valencia Region. Strong tramontana and mistral winds will exacerbate the feeling of cold and leave the sea very rough.
Improvement will arrive quickly on Monday, with the gradual retreat of cloudiness and the disappearance of the haze, although the early morning will be cold. From Tuesday onwards, the anticyclone will re-establish itself, ensuring stable and sunny weather with a gradual increase in temperatures.
