The investigation commission of the Corts Valencianes concerning public housing allocations (VPP) in Les Naus, Alicante, has postponed the vote on its work plan, seeking consensus among parliamentary groups.

The decision, supported by the Partido Popular and Vox, and rejected by the PSPV, establishes a ten-day period to try and reach a joint proposal among parliamentary groups. The commission's president, a representative from Vox, explained that the postponement is based on a resolution from the Presidency of the Corts.
This commission aims to investigate VPP allocations, especially those linked to the Les Naus development, built on municipal land at San Juan beach. During the session, the PSPV and Compromís urged Vox to agree on a work plan that includes the appearance of the mayor of Alicante, a proposal not included in the PP's initial document and which did not succeed.

"While some want a circus, others want the truth."

a spokesperson for the Partido Popular
A spokesperson for the Partido Popular criticized the proposed appearances by the opposition, arguing that their own work plan focuses on political and technical officials involved in the process. They noted that the project began in 2016 under a previous government and stated that the PP does not initially plan to summon either the current or former mayor of Alicante, advocating for the commission to be "dynamic" and adapt appearances as the investigation progresses.

"Are we facing an investigation commission or a protection commission?"

a PSPV deputy
For its part, a PSPV deputy questioned the nature of the commission, accusing the PP and Vox of wanting to "protect the Partido Popular's inner circle" and of not wanting to investigate anything. They pointed out that the PP's work plan does not include relevant political figures in the allocation process, while Vox would exclude part of the Generalitat's structure, which they believe results in a "decaffeinated" commission.
A Compromís deputy demanded that all involved individuals, both at the regional and municipal levels, appear, including the mayor of Alicante and all those who participated "directly or indirectly" in the allocations, describing the PP's proposal as "meager".
A Vox deputy regretted the postponement of the vote, attributing it to a request from the PSPV, and advocated for the need to expedite the work. They explained that their group has proposed over eighty appearances and insisted on the need for the mayor of Alicante to testify, as well as current councilors and former municipal teams, to ensure transparency in public housing allocations throughout the Comunitat Valenciana.
