The Consumer Resource Educational Center (Cerca) of the Alicante City Council has presented its new program of training and leisure activities, offering over 500 free places for the months of April to June.

The Councillor for Consumer Affairs has encouraged citizens to consult the course offerings, which include topics such as anti-inflammatory nutrition, healthy diet planning, the use of artificial intelligence, health, recycling, and responsible consumption. The program also features showcookings and guided visits to places like the Fire Station, the Central Market, and various restaurants.
These courses, organized by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Commerce, Hospitality, and Markets, aim to entertain and educate users on consumer rights, health, responsible consumption, safety, and new technologies, with the goal of reducing the digital divide among citizens.
The first course will begin next Thursday, April 23, and will focus on recycling through an 'Ecobingo'. This activity, offered for the first time, seeks to reflect on the management of packaging waste in the local environment, foster critical thinking, and seek collective solutions.
During this quarter, three nutrition workshops have also been planned. The first will address false food myths, the second will focus on anti-inflammatory nutrition to improve joint and digestive health, and the third will teach how to plan a healthy diet, including tastings and advice on supplements.

"The Cerca program always receives a great public reception; we promote it so that people can learn easily and at the same time enjoy their free time and leisure with courses, excursions, and activities."

Additionally, courses will be offered on artificial intelligence, online procedures with the Administration, online shopping, finance, healthy consumption, climate change, mobile phone usage, informed travel, safety tips, and sports, including stretching exercises, Pilates, or yoga.
Among the novelties of this program are guided visits to the Central Market, Mercalicante, and the SPEIS Fire Station. Visits to the restaurants Alasazón and Majao are also included, in collaboration with the Alicante Restaurants Association, and a showcooking by the restaurant Distópico, which will prepare its signature dishes.
All activities are free. The registration period began on April 15 and can be done online or in person at the ground floor of the Central Market, from 9 AM to 1 PM, via the website cerca.alicante.es.
