The Traffic Group of the Civil Guard carried out a series of operations during March 2026 that resulted in the investigation of 257 drivers across the entire Comunitat Valenciana. These individuals were brought before the courts for various road safety offenses, with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without a license being the most prominent.
Of the recorded cases, 116 drivers were investigated for lacking the necessary permit or license. Within this group, 54 had lost all their license points, 14 had a precautionary withdrawal, 2 a definitive withdrawal, and 46 had never obtained a license. Additionally, 131 individuals were detected driving under the influence of alcohol, one of the most common infractions.
Other significant offenses were also investigated. There were six cases of reckless driving, one for speeding, and three for driving with drugs in their system. These figures highlight the persistent problems in road safety within the region.
By province, the situation was as follows: in the province of Valencia, officers acted against 59 drivers without a license and 59 for alcohol consumption. Two cases of driving with drugs and four for reckless driving were also detected. In Castellón, the figures were lower, with 21 drivers without a license and 21 for alcohol. Finally, in Alicante, 36 drivers without a license and 51 for alcohol consumption were recorded, in addition to 1 case for speeding, 1 for drugs, and 2 for reckless driving.
