The town of Mutxamel will host a Summer Clothes Exchange Party next Friday, May 8, an initiative by students from IES L'Allusser to promote sustainability and the circular economy.

The event, taking place at the Casa de la Joventut from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, invites citizens to refresh their wardrobes for the warmer months at no cost. Under the slogan 'Make second-hand clothes your first option,' the party seeks to offer a fun and ecological alternative to traditional consumption.
To participate, each person can bring up to five items of summer clothing they no longer use, provided they are clean and in good condition (underwear and footwear are not accepted). In return, they will receive 'llavors,' the event's social currency, which can be used to 'buy' other items available in this exchange market. This practice gives clothes a second life and promotes reuse.

"This initiative is part of the educational project La Resistienda, a second-hand clothing store managed by Economics students from IES L'Allusser, which this year celebrates five years of activity, consolidating itself as a pioneering social entrepreneurship experience born in the classroom and open to the entire community."

The La Resistienda project, coordinated by an Economics teacher, has experienced sustained growth, with over 900 people having purchased items and 90 students having been part of the team in its five years of existence. More than 1,800 garments have been sold, and 65.8% of the clothes have been reused, consolidating a real model of sustainability, entrepreneurship, and community service.
Furthermore, La Resistienda is part of the center's global sustainability strategy, L'Allusser Sostenible, recognized by the Generalitat Valenciana as a Global Educational Innovation and Research Project (PIIE) for the 2023–2024 and 2024–2025 academic years. This recognition reinforces the institute's mission to advance towards a more sustainable and committed educational model.
