50 years ago, the Montemar roller hockey team from Alicante achieved promotion to the Honor Division, establishing itself among the best in the country after a resounding victory.

Between April 20 and 26, 1976, Montemar experienced a moment of glory in roller hockey. After an impressive 12-2 victory against Español de Barcelona on their home turf, the Alicante team celebrated their ascent to the highest national category.
This triumph, led by Daniel Sanjuán, placed the Alicante players among the elite of Spanish sports. It was the result of well-executed work within an entity that, over time, ceased to practice this sport.
Players such as Rafael and Paco Torres, Such, López and Bujaldón, along with goalkeepers Pla and Luis María, were key figures in that success. They elevated Montemar to a prominent status, promising to continue competing at the highest level in the country's best venues.
